Town of Big Flats Dog Enumeration
The Town Clerk’s Office, with the assistance of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, will be conducting an enumeration starting Monday, June 8, 2009. Under New York State law, it is mandatory that all dogs four months of age or older be licensed.
If you have a dog or dogs that are four months of age or older that do not have a valid license, you will be assessed a $5.00 fee per unlicensed dog in addition to the regular licensing fee.
Notices will be mailed out the first week of June. If you don’t get one, or misplace the one mailed to you, you can download and print a copy here: Dog Census Form. Please fill out the form even if you don’t own a dog. Thank you.
You may license your dog at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular office hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You must provide a current rabies vaccine certificate and if applicable, proof of spaying/neutering. The license fee is $6.00 per spayed or neutered dog and $20.00 per unaltered dog. If you license your dog prior to being contacted during the enumeration, you will not be assessed the additional $5.00 fee.

Sullivan Park Thorne Street Pool -Shared Services
The Village of Horseheads, in cooperation with the Town of Horseheads, Village of Elmira Heights and the Town of Big Flats will provide free swimming for all their respective residents at Sullivan Park on Thorne Street this summer. Residents must have a Resident Photo ID Card (RPID). Residents must complete the Resident Pool Pass Application and present it to the Horseheads Village Hall along with proof of residency. If you have a pass from last year you can obtain a renewal sticker at the pool between the hours of 9am and 8:30pm. Please have proof of identity and the pass application found below. Update from the Supervisor
Work is almost complete at the Town Hall. The new Hampton Inn is coming along nicely. We have the new crafts store, Hobby Lobby, open in Consumer Square. And the Big Flats Farmers Market is back in full swing on Tuesdays in the summer. Come check out the goods!

Big Flats Community Center
The Big Flats Community Center is beginning its third year of operation. We offer a wide variety of programs and activities detailed in a monthly flyer available on line and at the Center. Space may also be reserved by individuals or organizations for parties, meetings, etc. For additional information call 562–8443-ext.303.
